In 1942 Peter Schlumbohm invented "the perfect coffeemaker" - the Chemex. The Chemex coffeemaker is an elegant, one-piece, hourglass shaped vessel made of high quality, heat resistant glass. What makes it special, besides its gorgeous looks, are the filter papers used in it. The extra-thick papers filter all the oils, fats and particles from your coffee, resulting in a clear, pure flavour without bitterness or sediment every time. Beautiful and elegant in its simplicity, the Chemex has earned its place in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and Corning Museum of Glass in New York and was selected by the Illinois Institute of Technology as one of the 100 best designed products of modern times.
