How to prepare boba-pearls for you bubble tea
You will need:
- Tapioca-pearls
- Water
- Sugar if prefered
Instructions:
- Measure how much tapioca-pearls you want to prepare. Do not boil too much because they only stay fresh a couple of days.
- Heat up water generously to a boil so that the tapioca-pearls have room to boil and be stirred. Let the water boil properly before adding the pearls.
- Add the tapioca-pearls to the boiling water and give them a good stir. The pearls will float up to the surface of the water and need to be stirred every once in a while so that they will not stick to each other. Let them boil for 10-12 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and remove the pot from the stove. Cover the pearls with a lid and let stew in the remaining heat for additionally 10-12 minutes.
- Pour the boiled tapioca-pearls in a sieve and drain off excess water. You can add sugar to the Boba-pearls at this stage if you like. Your tapioca-pearls are now ready to use in your Bubble Tea.
If you didn’t use all the prepared Boba-pearls you can store them in a sealed container with a little bit of water to prevent them from drying. The pearls keep fresh 1-2 days in the fridge.
