Frappé - the Mediterranean Iced Coffee
The Frappé Iced Coffee originates in Greece and dates back to the 1950's and has lived on since.
Maybe you already have enjoyed the popular coffee beverage on holiday by the Mediterranean? This is how you can make it at home.
A Frappé consists of instant coffee, sugar, water and ice and can be served without milk or with the milk of your choice. The instant coffee, sugar and water is traditionally shaken together in a cocktail shaker or nowadays mixed together in a blender or with a mixer.
The recipe makes two small glasses or one tall glass of Frappé:
- 2 - 3 tsp instant coffee
- 2 - 3 tsp sugar or other sweetener e.g. coconut sugar or flavoured syrup
- 1 dl water
- 1 dl milk
- Ice cubes
Put the instant coffee, sugar and water in a shaker or mixer and mix until frothy.
Put ice cubes in a tall glass and pour over the coffee mixture and add milk if you please. Enjoy.
