How does the coffee become decaffeinated?

For this coffee, the so-called sugar cane method, or “Sugar Cane Decaf Process,” has been used.

In this process, the green beans are first steamed to open the pores. They are then soaked in water and ethyl acetate, a substance derived from sugar cane. Through repeated cycles of soaking and rinsing, approximately 97% of the caffeine is extracted. The remaining ethyl acetate is then removed by steaming. Finally, the beans are dried, polished, and cleaned.

The sugar cane method is particularly valued because it preserves the coffee’s natural sweetness and bright acidity.
