Finally there is an espresso machine on the market that can be placed almost anywhere! The DeLonghi Dedica EC685 is only 15 cm wide, taking very little space while offering excellent features comparable to full size machines.
The DeLonghi EC685 is comes with a stylish metal covered body and is equipped with programmable dose buttons for one and two espressos. The machine comes with coffee filters for one and two espressos and also a separate filter to be used with E.S.E. coffee pods.
The EC685 is equipped with a milk frother. Use it to prepare smooth and silky milk froth for cappuccinos and latte macchiatos. You can also dispense hot water from the machine.
This easy to use machine is equipped with an effective Thermoblock heating element and is ready to be used in a very short time after the machine has been switched on. An automatic energy saving function is turned on if the machine hasn't been used for a while. There is also a descaling indicator telling the user abotu the need for descaling. You can also use an optional water softener in the detachable water tank if you prefer.

The machine dispenses far too much water, so that a double espresso is a weak americano, not an espresso. The amount of water can, of course, be adjusted by draining the remainder into another container or by using the single espresso button for a double espresso.

The machine is suitably small for a one-person household. And the coffee is okay, although not quite as good as with the old La Pavoni, whatever the reason might be.
The removable water tank is a nice size and easy to keep clean, that's a plus.

Meets my expectations as a home coffee maker
An entry-level espresso machine
To my taste, this machine makes very good espresso. Especially plus points for its size; it fits even in a smaller kitchen. You can adjust the coffee temperature, which is good if you make iced coffee. I personally did not like the milk frother. I am used to making froth with a Rancilio Silvia milk frother that gives me good froth. But it seems that even this can be changed if you're willing to swap it out. Overall, a good machine!

The device is handy in exactly the way you would first think—it fits in a small space and is convenient to use.
The machine makes good coffee, although it took a couple of attempts to find the right grind size.
The daily maintenance of the machine is also easy, the warning float for a full drip tray is convenient. The handle consists of three parts, and removing the rack is sometimes a bit difficult, but it can be detached. The rack clicks back into place easily.

I bought it for my daughter as her first coffee machine. I almost kept the gift for myself as it was such a good and easy machine.
Perfect small espresso machine for a small kitchen
User-friendly device that makes excellent coffee. It's worth spending a few minutes on the initial setup, as making espresso afterward is really convenient and fast. This is our third machine, but the first one from the DeLonghi factory, and I have to say that the long product development shows and tastes. Time will tell how durable the device is, but it seems sturdy. The delivery from Crema was super fast.
