Hario Skerton coffee grinder
The old model of Hario Skerton has been discontinued. Skerton is replaced by Hario Skerton Plus.
The iconic Hario Skerton coffee grinder, also known as the "skeleton", has become one of the most popular coffee grinder over the last few years. This coffee grinder is used by rotating the lever and puts you in control of the grinding. You can set it to coarser grind for cold brew and drip coffee or to finer grind for espresso.
The Hario Skerton hand coffee grinder has durable ceramic burrs for a precise grind. It also includes a silicon lid for the top chamber so the beans don't scatter around your kitchen.
The coffee is ground to a glass container, which has its own lid to preserve the aromas if you prefer to grind in advance. The design makes it easy to get a good grip of the grinder while grinding. All parts are easy to clean and they are dishwasher safe.

Good
Works well all around. It's not stiff to turn. The grind is not extremely consistent but it's acceptable.
OstajaHandy quality device
I have no prior experience with coffee grinders, but for a first-timer, this is certainly a sufficient gadget for hand grinding weekend coffee. The grinder is easy to keep clean and with care, probably timeless. A convenient tutorial video on adjusting the grind could be found online with a name search. By grinding by hand, the coffee moment begins with a calm, zen-like start: there's no rush for Sunday coffee.
Seasy to use, lacks gradation scale.
This grinder does not have a graded scale, so it's hard to know if the coffee will be coarse or finely ground. All the notches look the same on the adjustment disc. The introductory video does not provide good guidance. It requires hand power, not only to grind but also to keep the grinder on the surface while grinding. It's easiest to press the bottom of the grinder against your stomach while grinding, but that's not fun either.
MGEfficient in every way
Fast to grind an easy to handle it's very efficient.
It's take just 2 or 3 try and adjustment to have the right size of coffee.
Hario Skerton coffee grinder
Great little grinder!
LikimineGood basic grinder for light use
Easy to assemble and clean. Stepless adjustment for determining the coarseness of the coffee grounds is a plus. Small parts are easily lost.
MinnaA decent tool for its price.
This is a decent grinder for coffee. It produces a consistent grind, and with the stepless adjustment, you can set the grind size precisely for almost anything. The tightening screw on the top loosens on its own during grinding, and you have to stop grinding occasionally to tighten the screw. This is caused by the handle moving easily up and down. Ease of use is clearly not the main feature of this grinder, which, on the other hand, is reflected in its very affordable price. The design of the grinder does not really support holding it during grinding, and you can't get a good and effortless grip. For its price, however, this is a basic grinder that does its job, producing consistent grinds.
KRHario Skerton coffee grinder
Easy to clean, easy to use, lots of space, cheap.
JoarDoes the job
Produces neat results, has a sturdy construction. A small downside is the difficulty in adjusting the coarseness.
.Good coffee grinder
Easy to keep clean. Stylish.
KatjaGreat coffee grinder for enjoyable coffee moments.
Excellent hand-operated coffee grinder. It's nice to grind fresh beans for a couple of cups of fresh coffee in the morning.
Mikko58Coffee Grinder
The product was a Christmas gift, so I have no personal experience. The recipient seemed satisfied after the first grinding.
JoulupukkiProduces a fine result
My first own coffee grinder besides the barista gadgets at work. It produces a fine result right away and gives you a workout while cranking :) The additional lid that allows you to close the jar is really handy, so you can make coffee for a couple of days with one session.
papuHario Skerton coffee grinder
Affordable and high-quality coffee grinder. Easily adjustable grind coarseness. Fast delivery, the next day after the order it was in the parcel locker.
Does what it's made to do
Works as promised. Only time will tell how long the ceramic parts will last. At least it's not overpriced.
JaniGreat little gadget
Price/quality ratio is really good. My first grinder, and it performs its task flawlessly, even though it's so affordable. A practical little grinder. The included flexible lid keeps the beans nicely in the container during grinding, and in the glass jar, excess grinds stay fresh for the next coffee time without needing unnecessary airing. You need to try the coarseness level to suit yourself and the coffee maker, and a tip: it's good to start by screwing the adjustment screw almost closed and observing the gap between the grinding stones from the bottom of the grinder and adjusting the coarseness based on that. This was the only adjustment. The idea was understood by experimenting. By comparing post-grind results to previous filter coffee grounds, I found the suitable coarseness. The structure is simple and straightforward. The top screw always loosens while grinding, but it can be tightened as needed. Opening and taking it apart is (perhaps due to this reason) easy, as is cleaning. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee is irresistible, and coffee is on a whole different level when freshly ground. This grinder has made it fun to try different coffee varieties, and coffee has become an even more enjoyable gourmet hobby. The crunching of breaking beans feels and sounds nice and is part of the coffee enjoyment. It takes me a few minutes to grind for four cups. A special thanks for the fast delivery. I ordered on Sunday, and by Tuesday the package had arrived.
Does what it promises
The Hario Skerton coffee grinder operates reliably and precisely, although the grind size adjustment requires a bit of getting used to. The grinding quality is high-level, but the lack of a coarseness scale requires a good touch from the user.
Hario Skerton coffee grinder
Nothing to complain about.
Easy-to-use coffee grinder
A suitably sized grinder for a small household. Great grind. Excellent coffee! Fast delivery, thanks for that too!
Easy-to-use coffee grinder
Easy to use, but it requires quite a bit of effort to crank.
Handy to crank
The grinder grinds reasonably uniformly, but you have to turn it for quite a while... The one I own and other new Skertons have a lid for the bean hopper - a nice addition! I recommend it for beginners/occasional users or for travel/cottage use.
Hario Skerton coffee grinder
I am really satisfied with the product and the service, which was fast.
Basic starter kit
I have been using this grinder for over a year and I don't understand how it has received such a good rating. For basic use, it works, but it produces very inconsistent results. I use a French press, and when preparing coffee, you can visibly see three different grind sizes. The grinder leaves large chunks unground and creates very fine dust in addition to medium-coarse grind, which affects the taste of the coffee. I recommend investing directly in a better grinder, either electric or manual.
Note: It is possible that the product has improved over time (nowadays it comes with a lid), but I'm not satisfied with mine.
Excellent manual grinder
The grinder works excellently. However, adjusting the grind requires time and getting used to. Grinding result is excellent. And a few minutes of hand exercise is just beneficial. Recommended purchase!
Hario Skerton coffee grinder
Good grinder in the more affordable class. Feels sturdy. The only downside is that the rubber base doesn't stay in place.
convenient
Simple and easy to use. Adjusting the coarseness without any scale is a bit tricky, but over time, finding the desired coarseness will likely become easier.
Great device
We bought the coffee grinder for home use and it was just what we hoped for. The right size and really functional. Fast delivery. We are satisfied
Good
No experience with other grinders. It produces good results, and if it ever breaks, I'll buy another one just like it.
High-quality grinder for light use
Everything needed is included and the coarseness adjustment works, although it requires a bit of an engineering approach. Affordable considering what it offers. After a few weeks, I've started to become interested in electric ones, but I'll stick with this until I find a machine that provides at least as good a grind, at a reasonable price.
