You can easily remove the filter basket with this, but all the edges of the tool are very sharp. Therefore, it might leave unpleasant marks on the handle/basket when removing.

The gap between the filter and the filter holder on our machine is smaller than this tool is thick, so it's not always possible to reach with it. If you try to force the tool into the gap, there's a risk of slipping, and the corners are quite sharp...

This tool is dead simple, easy to clean, and works as promised. It's a bit thick at the end, so it's not super easy to slot into our portafilter, but that's down to the design of our portafilter and nothing to do with the tool itself. A flathead screwdriver does the job just as well, but this is a bit more comfortable.
