The exotic Arabica variety Sidra gives this light-roasted specialty coffee from Makea Coffee a sweet and vibrant flavor profile with notes of red grapes, cane sugar, and citrus.
Sidra is a relatively rare coffee variety grown primarily in Colombia and Ecuador. The variety is appreciated for its high quality and often receives high cupping scores. Makea Coffee roasts the coffee very lightly to highlight the beans’ fruity and nuanced flavours. The coffee can be enjoyed as early as the roasting day without green or raw notes.
The coffee beans come from La Experimental in Colombia, a 4.5-hectare coffee farm run by Jorge Rojas and Erika Yaguara. The farm is located at an altitude of 1,875 meters and has been under their management since 2010. La Experimental is known for its high-quality specialty coffees and has, among other achievements, reached third place in the Colombia Cup of Excellence.
