The Josei matcha bowl (matchawan) is handmade from clay in a small ceramics studio in Kraków, Poland. The traditionally shaped bowl is designed for preparing and enjoying matcha, and similar bowls are also used in Japanese tea ceremonies.
The tall, straight sides help prevent splashes while whisking, while the flat base makes it easier to whisk the matcha. As each bowl is handmade, slight variations in shape, colour and surface may occur, making every piece unique.
