Remove oils from coffee

I am an evolving coffee enthusiast. The AeroPress coffee maker has a metal filter with a fairly fine mesh. It does filter out enough solids but does not remove the oils dissolved in the water, which slightly raise cholesterol levels. A paper filter is effective for removing these. I have indeed experimented with coffee varieties ground at different grind levels with various filter combinations. Just a metal filter, just a paper filter, metal filter + paper filter, and two paper filters stacked. Most often, I do use a single paper filter. It is efficient enough, and disposing of the used coffee grounds is astonishingly easy. Hence, plus points for using paper filters.

I prefer using paper filters and these simply work. I use a metal filter but have found them to be finicky when using and can be hard to avoid spillage so for that reason alone I prefer these paper filters.

I use my AeroPress all the time to make my coffee at home or camping or traveling I have the travel system so it goes everywhere with me even if I am grinding my own beans and not powder I find this is the best system I have ever used even to clean the grinds you just take the filter cover off and finish the push through and the grinds and filter come out in one go straight into the bin It is so easy to use I would recommend it to anyone

Filter discs

The discs work as they should, and one package lasts a long time. I recommend these rather than a reusable filter, which always needs to be washed after use and can also cause finger injuries.

Probably good filters

Bought the filters to use with AeroPress brewing to get a more even flow. However, the coffee tasted better without the filters, but that could be due to variance in other factors. I also forgot to moisten the filter first. Will continue testing when I achieve more consistent results.
