The Baratza Sette 30 AP is a compact coffee grinder to get started on an espresso journey, suitable for basic and advanced espresso machines. The Sette 30 AP has a macro only adjustment for grind size, offering 31 steps of adjustment.
Burrs
This grinder incorporates the AP burr, designed for the high end Sette 270/270W grinders, which produces an exceptional espresso grind. It can also be used for grinding for manual brewing methods that require a finer grind (for example, AeroPress and Hario V60) for a very balanced flavor experience.
Grind and operation
Designed and perfected in Liechtenstein over a period of 8 years, this technology sets a new standard in simplicity, efficiency, and durability. This new mechanism has the outer burr rotate and the inner burr is fixed, a truly revolutionary design. The design of this mechanism doubles the efficiency of similarly sized grinders. Coffee passes straight through the grinder, vertically, and drops directly into the grounds bin or your portafilter.

Buy ear protection at the same time
When the blades of my Baratza Vario wore out, I didn't want to wait for replacement blades from abroad, so I needed a grinder quickly. Hence, I got the Sette 30 grinder because I knew Crema would deliver it quickly.
The overall impression here is entirely plastic.
The timer display is confusing: first, the hundredths of seconds are visible, but at the ten-second mark, they disappear, after which the smallest unit is tenths of a second.
The handle doesn't stay in the holder by itself; you have to hold it with your hand. You can't be near the grinder without ear protection, though. With this device, you'll wake up the whole house, and even the neighbors.
I ground 14 g of Blucaffé beans with the factory-recommended espresso setting of 10 and extracted 25 g of coffee with a Flair 58 machine without a filter at 9 bar pressure. It took 30 seconds. I was satisfied with the result and taste. The success of the coffee was the most important thing, which is why I gave the grinder five stars despite its other flimsy features.
Will use Creme again!

Good value for money
This is a no non-sense, simple but well built machine. Very easy to get started, giving good consistent grinding results. I use it for expresso making and I am very happy with it (I have not tried it for other brewing methods though).
Only drawback for me is noise level: it is (very) loud

After being refunded twice here in the UK due to no stock, I found one on here and knew that all would be fine, what with PayPal And my own bank regulations. Need not have even thought about it though as it arrived in 6 days (the extra day being some mishap within FedEx).
The machine is very easy to set up and after the initial 40gm 'first grind' away I went, only to have my DeLonghi Dedica choke on me at 7 and 10 settings! LoL. I dialled it back to 15! That worked fine, and I will then dial it back down as I go.
This machine is fast! Like 12 seconds for 17gm fast! It isn't quiet though, so don't have it near a bedroom if your partner / kids are light sleepers LoL. I Will be buying the 270 fine adjustment for the burrs at some stage (likely once it is dialled in).
All in all the machine is a breeze to use and works as described on the tin.
Go buy one, you will not regret it!.

I couldn't get hold of a grinder here in the UK and found one on Crema's website. I thought - 'So far away, never heard of them, oh sod it, let's give them a go.'

Brilliant product. Looks great, easy to use and has improved our espresso and V60 considerably.
It works!
My old grinder no longer ground fine enough, but this one grinds so well that if you're not careful, you'll be waiting half an hour for the espresso to drip! The only downside is the rather loud operating noise, but you learn to live with it.
