Bodum Pebo is a fascinating coffee brewer, using the effective vacuum brewing method to extract all precious flavours and oils of your favorite coffee. The vacuum brewing process is entirely sealed off so no aroma can escape. In addition, the brewing time and temperature are perfectly calibrated, ensuring a perfect cup of coffee with each brew. Monitor the eye-catching brewing process through the two firmly attached glass bowls!
How to use the Bodum Pebo vacuum coffee maker:
- Pour the required amount of water into the bottom glass jug.
- Place the jug either on an electric, gas or methylated spirits stove. The glass jug may not be wet on the outside. For gas stoves we recommend that you use a heat diffuser.
- Insert the filter in the funnel.
- There is a mall chain on the filter with a hook. Pull the chain gently and secure the hook to the edge of the tube.
- Place the ground coffee in the funnel. Use one scoop of coffee for each cup.
- Now place the funnel on the jug and bring the water to a boil.
- The water will rise into the funnel and mix with the ground coffee. Some water will remain in the glass jug.
- Now take the Pebo off the heat and place it on a surface which is neither cold nor wet. The coffee is now brewed - the coffee should pass into the lower jug. As soon as the coffee has run out of the funnel into the jug, remove the funnel and the coffee is now ready to drink. (A cold or wet surface might break the hot glass jug).

I recommend boiling/heating the water before putting it into the coffee maker. The coffee maker is slow when you put cold water in it, and warm water speeds up the process.
AIBodum Pebo
My wife and I have brewed with the Santos Original maker for decades, which is similar to the Bodum Pebo coffee maker. The upper parts of that maker wore out, so we switched to the Bodum Pebo. The marks on the bottom part of the brewer are for 4-6-8 cups; there should also be a mark for two cups since I've been left alone and only brew a couple of cups. The scale should also be on the side and not under the handle. Additionally, it should be possible to buy just the upper parts like the bottom parts, as they also break, so you don't have to buy the entire maker.

Great brewer and good coffee. If there's something to complain about, the spring could have a bigger knob (like in the 50s), which would provide a better grip when tightening.
And the measurement scale could start from 4 cups and be located elsewhere than under the handle.

As a child in the 1960s, we had a Bodum Pebo at home. It was used exclusively to brew coffee. I thought they were no longer for sale, but luckily I found this lovely coffee maker on Crema's website. The package was delivered in a couple of days, and now I can enjoy amazing coffee moments while reminiscing about my childhood. I am very satisfied!

The Pebo brews good coffee surprisingly quickly! I give a small minus because the cup measurement is only visible near the handle on the pot. On the other hand, that small minus is compensated by the fact that all parts are also available as spare parts if needed! Easy to clean and fits in the cupboard.
