Makea Coffee Gitesi Bliss is a lively and fresh coffee from Rwanda with notes of grapefruit and sweet herbaceousness.
Red Bourbon is an Arabica variety that is very common in Rwanda – and it is also the variety used in this coffee. Gitesi’s washing station buys coffee cherries from around 1,800 smallholder farmers and sorts them carefully, so that only the best cherries move on to processing.
During the washing process, the coffee cherries go through several stages of pulping and soaking. The careful processing helps bring out the coffee’s nuanced and multifaceted flavour profile.
