Hario Immersion Dripper Switch is a glass coffee dripper with a valve in the bottom. The dripper is the traditional V60 model, and it uses size 02 filter papers. A special steel ball closes the opening in the dripper, making it impossible for water to pour immediately to the server.
After approximately two minutes all you need to do is to press the switch button to enjoy your favorite coffee brew. The switch snaps into open and closed positions, so you don't need to keep it pressed when releasing the coffee.
The Hario Switch Dripper is easy to use, producing good coffee every time. The base recipe is 20 g of medium coarse coffee and 240 g hot water. The immersion time is 2 minutes. You can of course freely experiment with different grinds, brew times and amounts of coffee and water!

Beautiful and functional

Beautiful and works directly on top of the coffee mug. At first, the closure was a bit challenging because I used too much force, but once I learned the light touch needed for it to work, there have been no issues.
I have used it with different coffee qualities and grind sizes, experimenting with different brewing times. Everything seems to work. However, I've gotten the best result with a 'French press' grind—similar to what I would use in a press pot. Two double espresso scoops of coffee and a 5-minute brew time.
Never a traditional coffee maker for me again, thank you.

A clever dripper that you can play with in a completely different way since the switch can be used differently in this one.
If you're just going for steep-and-release, you might as well buy the clever dripper which is cheaper - if you want to play around a bit sometimes, this is the one you want.

So I’ve been using this for a week now and I am seriously impressed with this device. I used the clever dripper but always feel like that the flavour isn’t as well developed or over extracted due to the slow extraction when opening it up. But this sexy thing called the hario switch is a game changer. It’s easy to clean. Easy to use and the build quality is A+++ . Having that said it isn’t perfect for house hold use or if you want a quick cup with a friend. You can only make 1 and a half cup per filter at a time unfortunately.other than that. It’s a perfect Christmas gift.

I used a regular V60 before and it's great too. This one allows you to retain the water so you can bloom better though. Recommended!
