Good machine for a beginner

We bought this as our first coffee machine. It makes a pretty good espresso with fairly little effort and doesn't require a lot of technique. The automatic milk frothing works very well and makes life easier.

In some places, the machine feels a bit plasticky, raising questions about durability, but we will see about that. The user interface could be clearer; everything is done with three buttons and their combinations, and sometimes you have to refer to the manual to remember which two buttons to hold down for a specific function or whether you should perhaps press a button a little longer.

The biggest problem is that the machine doesn't heat up quite sufficiently for the espresso to be the best possible. There are various tips available online, for example, letting a bit of steam out of the machine right before extraction to get it a bit hotter, but it doesn't completely solve the issue.

Overall, however, it's a very functional machine that produces consistent coffee and milk foam with little effort and is easy to keep clean.

Easy espresso and cappuccino

The machine itself is very easy once you learn how to use it. Everything is automated, starting from milk frothing. Unfortunately, the extensive manual does not include instructions for all problem situations, such as uneven water flow or cleaning the machine.

Didn't work, leaked water.

It didn't work for a second, the base leaked water, and the automatic milk frothing stopped when the milk was still cold. Hopefully, I'll get a functioning machine in replacement even from the importer.

Decent machine

A fine coffee machine. The instructions are clear, and once you become familiar with the machine, the espresso/latte results are very good.

Issues or 'features' in the new device

The intention was to upgrade from DeLonghi to a more premium machine. Well, initially the handle of the Sage was so stiff that it wouldn't move without force. Now, after a few hundred extra twists, it moves just barely enough to use the device, as long as the handle is wet first. The milk frother doesn't align with the designated hole in the base, so during the cleaning phase after frothing, water splashes all over the table. The device is also light and unbalanced, which makes it prone to tipping during use. The waste water tank is too small and fills up quickly. Compared to the previously well-functioning DeLonghi machine, this one had too many issues right out of the box. And both of these issues are apparently just normal features of the device. I'd recommend buying a real, larger machine instead of this toy. The coffee is quite good though, if you manage to brew it at all.

Great machine

I love this machine, it's very easy to use and the included non-pressurized baskets were a treat. The coffee is good but not very hot, and you can't control that so beware of that. It's very easy to clean and looks lovely in my kitchen.
What's not so good is the tray that is kind of loose and you it tends to skew a little, this is a small detail that won't affect your coffee.

I bought this as my first espresso machine and I am very satisfied with it! Simple and quick to use.

Best machine I've purchased

This was my fourth espresso machine and I think it's the best of them.
Pros:
- Fast. Really no need to wait for it to heat up
- Tall. Even a larger cup fits under the handle
- Small and relatively quiet (compared to previous ones)

I recommend it to all beginners, as I'm not a connoisseur myself.
