The Burg Hawaii Kona special coffee comes from the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano, which has ideal growing conditions. Connoisseurs describe this coffee as berry and nutty with a hint of pepper. A very balanced coffee with low acidity, so it hardly tastes bitter and hides a light chocolate taste with notes of nuts and cinnamon.

Hawaii Kona, one of the most sought-after gourmet coffees in the world

The Arabica coffee plant was first brought from Brazil to West Hawaii in the 1820s by Samuel Ruggles. This was in the sunny Kona District, which stretches 60 miles (96 km) from Kona Airport to Kealakekua Bay on the volcanic west coast of the Island of Hawaii. The climate for growing coffee is ideal here. Throughout the year you have sunny mornings, shady afternoons, an evenly warm temperature and regular rain showers. It is said that nowhere else do the coffee plants have such ideal growing conditions as in the Kona area. And it is precisely these advantages that you can taste in this Hawaii Kona coffee. It comes from two farms near the town of Captain Cook.

The coffee plants are cultivated in a 100-year tradition in near-natural orchards and forest gardens in shade tree cultures in an ecologically and economically sustainable manner. The diverse nature is home to a large number of native bird species, which are also responsible for natural pest control. The coffee berries are picked one by one by hand, the pulp is removed, washed and dried in the Hawaiian sun - this is how one of the most popular gourmet coffees in the world, the Hawaii Kona Coffee, develops.
