Nitro Pistachio Matcha – Velvety luxury with a siphon

Nitro Pistachio Matcha is a modern classic where the earthiness of matcha meets the roasted nuttiness of pistachio. The nitro siphon (N2) infuses the drink with nitrogen, making the flavour richer and the mouthfeel creamy without heavy cream.

Ingredients:

  • 5 dl of your chosen milk (for example, oat milk Barista works beautifully)
  • Strong matcha shot: 5 g matcha powder mixed with 0.5 dl of approx. 80 °C water
  • 4 cl Monin Pistachio flavoured syrup
  • 1 pc N2 nitrogen cartridge (Nitro)

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the base: Pour the milk into the siphon. Add the thoroughly whisked, strong matcha shot and the Monin Pistachio syrup.
  2. Close and charge: Screw the siphon lid on tightly. Place one N2 nitrogen cartridge in the holder and screw it on until you hear the gas being released into the container.
  3. Shake: Shake the siphon vigorously 6–10 times. This ensures the nitrogen dissolves into the liquid and the flavours combine perfectly.
  4. Serve: Turn the siphon upside down and carefully dispense the drink directly into glasses.
  5. Enjoy: Admire the beautiful "cascading effect" shimmering on the surface of the drink and enjoy immediately!

Information about using a siphon for drinks:

A siphon is not just for whipped cream! When you use N2 (nitrogen) cartridges instead of traditional N2O (nitrous oxide) cartridges, you achieve the same kind of smooth texture that Nitro Cold Brew coffee is known for.

Why nitrogen (N2)? Nitrogen bubbles are significantly smaller than carbon dioxide bubbles. They don’t make the drink acidic; instead, they give it a viscous, almost creamy texture.

Cleaning is essential: Because matcha and milk contain solids and fat, remember to thoroughly rinse the siphon nozzle and valve after each use. This way you ensure the device works flawlessly the next time as well.

Cold is key: You’ll get the best Nitro effect when the milk and matcha shot are as cold as possible before adding them to the siphon. The colder the liquid, the better the nitrogen binds to it.
